HIPAA Tracker

HIPAA Tracker is a tool that supports HIPAA compliance programs for healthcare and health information system vendor organizations. HIPAA Tracker is different from most other HIPAA solutions available today. By combining a database that is customized to the organization, online access to the HIPAA regulations, documentation capabilities, and project management data, HIPAA Tracker becomes a single-point solution for HIPAA compliance programs. And HIPAA Tracker's value doesn't end once the compliance project is complete. HIPAA Tracker's document attachment feature allows the system to serve as a repository of information that can be used if your organization is inspected or becomes the subject of a complaint. Information in the database can be used to demonstrate the thoroughness of your analysis and compliance programs.

Customized Compliance Database

HIPAA Tracker can be customized with databases specifically designed to address an organization's compliance requirements. Each database contains compliance elements specific to a type of organization. Currently HIPAA Tracker has databases for the following organization types:

Links to HIPAA Language

Each compliance element in the database is linked directly to HIPAA language so that users can quickly refer to actual HIPAA language when performing gap or risk analysis activities or developing compliance plans. Users can also add links to sections of the regulation that may be important to understanding a compliance element.

Periodic Database Updates

Licensed users of HIPAA Tracker can receive periodic updates based on changes to the HIPAA regulations. Updates will include guidance documents released by Health and Human Services.

Tracking Compliance Programs

HIPAA Tracker's detail task screen allows users to track the progress of specific compliance elements, much like a project plan. Statistics stored in the database can be used to generate management reports that can be easily e-mailed to interested parties.

Implementation

HIPAA Tracker can be installed as a stand-alone system or as an enterprise wide compliance solution. The system's easy-to-use interface is web-based which allows seamless integration with UNIX, Windows or Macintosh computing environments. If implemented on an organization's intranet, HIPAA Tracker can serve as an overall compliance project management tool. For smaller organizations HIPAA Tracker is available in an application service provider (ASP) model.

HIPAA Tracker can be licensed from Ocius Medical Informatics for installation on a single computer or on a network. Smaller organizations can also access HIPAA Tracker as a shared application hosted on an OMI server. Pricing is based on the number of seats. Compliance databases can be purchased separately.
